About “Tarikh-e Qarabagh”
The Tarikh-e Qarabagh is a historical work written by Mirza Jamal Javanshir after 1847. It focuses on the history of the Karabakh region, written in Persian, the literary language of Muslims in the Caucasus. The book was commissioned by Mikhail Semyonovich Vorontsov, the Russian Viceroy of the Caucasus. It covers the region's history from the arrival of the Arabs to the Muslim conquest of Iran in the 7th century, and continues through the Imperial Russian conquest following the Russo-Persian War of 1804–1813.
