In the jungle of Peru, a search for a legendary Incan idol is underway, a relic that could serve as the foundation for a dangerous new weapon. Professor William Race, a young linguist, leads a US Army team as they attempt to translate an ancient manuscript that reveals the idol's location. They uncover a dark stone temple, tightly sealed. When they open it, they encounter doors that were never meant to be opened.
