About “The book of snobs”
William Makepeace Thackeray contributed regularly to several publications, including Fraser's Magazine, Morning Chronicle, New Monthly Magazine, and The Times. His writings first gained attention in Punch, where he satirized English snobbery. These satirical sketches were later collected and published in 1848 as The Book of Snobs, in which Thackeray defined a snob as "he who meanly admires mean things."
