About “The Bridges of Madison County”
The Bridges of Madison County is a 1992 romance novel by Robert James Waller. It follows an Italian-American woman living on a farm in 1960s Madison County, Iowa. When her husband and children leave for the State Fair, she begins an affair with a National Geographic photographer from Bellingham, Washington. He is in the area to photograph the covered bridges.
