About “The Caine Mutiny”
The Caine Mutiny is a 1951 novel by American author Herman Wouk. It grew out of Wouk's personal experiences aboard two destroyer-minesweepers in the Pacific Theater in World War II, dealing among its themes with moral and ethical decisions made at sea. The legalistic mutiny of the title takes place during Typhoon Cobra in December 1944, followed by a court-martial that provides the plot's dramatic climax.
