About “The Centurions”
The Centurions is a 1960 novel by French journalist and former soldier Jean Lartéguy. It follows a French airborne battalion through the First Indochina War, the Algerian War, and the Suez Crisis. The book was translated into English by Xan Fielding and introduced the "ticking time bomb" scenario. It won the 1960 Prix Ève Delacroix.
