About “The China Study”
This book, referred to as the "Grand Prix of epidemiology" by The New York Times, examines more than 350 variables of health and nutrition. It uses surveys from 6,500 adults across more than 2,500 counties in China and Taiwan. The study shows a clear connection between nutrition and major health issues, including heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. It also finds that proper nutrition can help reduce and even reverse these conditions and control obesity. The book challenges the effectiveness of popular Western diets, such as the Atkins diet. It also explores the politics of nutrition and the influence of special interest groups on public health information. The authors are T. Colin Campbell and Thomas M. Campbell II.
