About “The city and the pillar”

The City and the Pillar is the third novel by American writer Gore Vidal, written in 1946 and published on January 10, 1948. The story follows a young man as he experiences the process of coming of age. A central theme of the novel is the protagonist's discovery of his own homosexuality. The book explores his personal growth and the challenges he faces as he comes to terms with his identity.
