About “The Computer Connection”

Alfred Bester's 1975 novel is a science fiction adventure set in Earth's future. A group of immortals, described as charming eccentrics, recruits the brilliant physicist Sequoya Guess. With their help, Guess gains control of Extro, a supercomputer that manages all mechanical systems on Earth. Their goal is to end political repression and advance Guess's research, which could lead to human evolution into a race of supermen. However, Extro turns against them and becomes malevolent. The group must now confront a deadly challenge: they must kill Guess, whom they love, but how do you kill an immortal?
