About “The Fable of the Bees”
The Fable of the Bees is a book by Bernard Mandeville, first published in 1714. It includes the satirical poem The Grumbling Hive: or, Knaves turn'd Honest, which was originally published in 1705. The book also contains a prose discussion called "Remarks" and an essay titled An Enquiry into the Origin of Moral Virtue. A second edition was published in 1723, which added two new essays.
