About “The Guts”
The man who invented the Commitments in the 1980s is now 47, living in Dublin with his wife and four children, and dealing with a diagnosis of bowel cancer that he does not believe will be fatal. He continues his work finding old bands and connecting fans with their resurrected music, while navigating chemotherapy, reuniting with his long-lost brother Les, reconnecting with former Commitments members Outspan Foster and Imelda Quirk, and learning to play the trumpet.
