To uncover its secrets, she searches for the book's author. Meanwhile, in New York, an elderly man named Leo Gursky is trying to endure each day. He spends his time remembering a love from sixty years ago in Poland, which inspired him to write a book. Unbeknownst to him, the book has survived, traveled across oceans and generations, and has had a lasting impact on lives.
