About “The Horse, the Wheel and Language”
The Horse, the Wheel, and Language is a 2007 book by David W. Anthony that presents his "revised Kurgan theory." The book examines the origins and spread of Indo-European languages from the Pontic–Caspian steppe to Western Europe, Central Asia, and South Asia. Anthony argues that the domestication of the horse, the invention of the wheel, and the use of bronze technology helped steppe herding societies expand and influence neighboring regions. He also highlights the role of new social structures, such as patron-client relationships, in giving these societies an advantage.
