About “The Iron Man”

The Iron Man: A Children's Story in Five Nights is a 1968 science fiction novel by Ted Hughes, who later became British Poet Laureate. Published by Faber and Faber, it includes illustrations by George Adamson. The story follows a giant metal man who arrives in England and destroys industrial farm equipment. He befriends a boy and helps defend the world from a space dragon. The novel is sometimes called a modern fairy tale.
