About “The Light of Day”
Arthur Simpson is a petty thief who is caught stealing from a hotel room. His victim is revealed to be a high-level criminal, and Simpson is forced to smuggle arms into Turkey for a major jewel robbery. The Turkish police discover the arms and pressure Simpson to spy on the gang or face imprisonment. Reluctantly, he agrees to help, but this decision leads to greater danger. The story follows Simpson as he navigates a web of deception and violence in a 1962 novel by Eric Ambler.
