The Literary Mind and the Carving of Dragons is a 5th-century work on Chinese literary aesthetics by Liu Xie, composed in fifty chapters. The structure of the work follows the principles of numerology and divination found in the Book of Changes or I Ching. It also engages with and challenges the ideas of the 3rd-century author Lu Ji, who wrote Wen fu. Liu Xie aimed to provide a comprehensive and coherent understanding of literature.
