However, she senses a deep sadness surrounding the manor and the town. Maria is determined to uncover the mystery and change the sad fate of Moonacre Valley. The valley is haunted by the memory of the Moon Princess and a mysterious little white horse. Maria discovers she is destined to end an ancient feud and correct the wrongs of her ancestors. Despite her determination, she faces the challenge of changing the past alone. This is a new-fashioned fantasy story inspired by classic fairy tales. The book inspired a 1994 mini-series and a 2008 movie.
