The story unfolds through a series of episodes that alternate between idyllic and chilling moments, as di Chirolo confronts a ferocious ancestral monster, pursues the hand of Armida Iloytola, and faces an approaching nemesis, all within a city where change is forbidden and where scholars believe humanity descended from dinosaurs.
