About “The Naked Face”
The Naked Face is Sidney Sheldon's first novel, published in 1970. The story follows psychiatrist Judd Stevens as he investigates a series of murders. The victims include John Hanson, killed in a seemingly random attack, and Carol Roberts, who was tortured and left to die. Stevens must trust no one, especially his patients, as he tries to uncover the killer's identity. Possible suspects include Teri Washburn, a former Hollywood starlet; Harrison Burke, a paranoid businessman; and Alexander Fallon, an evangelist seeking to avenge sin. The novel was praised as "the best first mystery of the year" by the New York Times and won an Edgar Award. Sheldon later became a renowned author of bestselling novels, many of which were adapted into films and television series. He had previously worked as a playwright and screenwriter, winning a Tony Award and an Academy Award. His books have sold more than 275 million copies worldwide.
