About “The Plague Dogs”
Richard Adams, the author of Watership Down, writes a lyrical and engrossing tale about two canine heroes, Snitter and Rowf. After being mistreated at a government animal research facility, the dogs escape into the wilderness. They are aided by a fox named "the Tod" as they struggle to survive. When the starving dogs attack sheep, they are labeled as ferocious man-eaters, leading to a dog hunt. The situation worsens when fears arise that the dogs might carry the bubonic plague. This 1977 novel follows their journey through danger and survival.
