About “The Prophet”
The Prophet is a collection of 26 poetic essays written by Lebanese-American author Khalil Gibran in 1923. The book is presented as a series of dialogues between the prophet Almustafa and the people of Orphalese, a foreign city where he has lived for 12 years. As he prepares to return home, he engages in conversations on various aspects of life. The topics covered include love, marriage, children, work, joy and sorrow, and other themes related to the human experience. Each essay is written in a lyrical, philosophical style and offers reflections on morality, society, and personal growth. The book is structured into chapters that explore fundamental elements of life and human nature.
