About “The seasons”
The Seasons is a series of four poems written by the Scottish author James Thomson. The first part, Winter, was published in 1726, and the full cycle was completed and published in 1730. The work is divided into four sections, each focusing on a different season. Thomson's poems describe the natural world and the changing environment throughout the year. The series was one of Thomson's major literary contributions and remains a notable example of 18th-century poetry. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
