About “The Servant of Two Masters”
The Servant of Two Masters is a comedy written by the Italian playwright Carlo Goldoni in 1746. Goldoni wrote the play at the request of actor Antonio Sacco, a famous Harlequin. The original version included parts that were meant for improvisation, but Goldoni revised it in 1789. The play is based on the tradition of commedia dell'arte, a style of theater that was popular in Italy. It remains a well-known work in the history of comedy.
