About “The Seven Heroes and Five Gallants”
The Tale of Loyal Heroes and Righteous Gallants is a Chinese historical novel first published in 1879. It was based on oral performances by storyteller Shi Yukun. The work was later revised by philologist Yu Yue and republished in 1889 under the title The Seven Heroes and Five Gallants. The story remained largely unchanged despite the title alteration.
