When Johnny Dixon and his friend Professor Childermass discover an old heirloom clock, the professor suddenly vanishes, leaving Johnny to solve the mystery alone. Inside the clock, Johnny finds a miniature room resembling the scene of a past murder and takes a tiny skull with magical powers, unleashing dark demonic forces that lead him and his friends Fergie and Father Higgins on a chase to a deserted island off the coast of Maine to confront a terrifying threat.
