About “The story of ancient Japan”

The Kojiki, previously translated as "A Record of Ancient Matters," is considered the first literary work in the history of Japan, an 8th-century Japanese chronicle. It compiles myths, history, songs, legends, and genealogies, moving in loosely historical progression from the creation of Japan in the age of the gods through the reign of legendary first sovereign Emperor Jinmu to Empress Suiko (reigned 592-618).
