About “The street of crocodiles”

A 1934 short story collection by Bruno Schulz, set in a small Polish town between the two World Wars. It contains stories of childhood and a child's transforming imagination alongside more somber, Kafkaesque tales; Schulz, also a graphic artist, illustrated his books, which began as stories he wrote in the margins of letters to a friend who encouraged him to expand them.
