"Hongxian" or "The Tale of Hongxian" is a Chinese short story from the Tang dynasty. It is attributed to either Yuan Jiao or Yang Juyuan. The story follows a general's maid who takes action against a rival general. She secretly enters his bedroom and steals a golden box, causing him great fear.
