A 1936/1937 novel by Ernest Hemingway. It tells the story of an American fishing boat skipper who dabbles in smuggling to make ends meet, reluctantly agreeing to smuggle a group of Chinese immigrants from Cuba to Florida. It is Hemingway's only novel set in the United States.
