About “Tosafot”
The Tosafot, also known as Tosafos or Tosfot, are medieval commentaries on the Talmud. They appear as critical and explanatory notes in the margins of Talmud editions, often opposite the comments of Rashi. These glosses were added by later scholars to clarify, challenge, or expand upon the Talmudic text and Rashi's interpretations.
