About “Troilus and Criseyde”

Troilus and Criseyde is an epic poem by Geoffrey Chaucer written in Middle English. It tells the tragic story of Troilus and Criseyde during the siege of Troy. The poem was composed in rime royale and likely completed in the mid-1380s. Scholars often consider it Chaucer's greatest work, and it is more self-contained than The Canterbury Tales, which was left unfinished. The poem is also noted as the source of the phrase "all good things must come to an end." (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
