About “Two flights up”
A boarder named Howard Warrington rents a room in the Bayne house, where he lives with three women: Mrs. Bayne, an aging widow; her sister Margaret, a spinster; and Holly, a young woman whose vitality diminishes daily. The house is filled with old secrets and quiet grudges, and Howard becomes increasingly disturbed by the women's strange behavior, especially after Margaret attempts to kill herself.
