About “V.”

Benny Profane, recently discharged from the Navy, lives a lazy life with his friends, who embrace the idea of "schlemihlhood"—being a dupe—and reject responsibility. His group, the Whole Sick Crew, includes Slab, an artist who only paints cheese danishes. Profane's life takes a turn when he meets Stencil, an ambitious young man on a mission to find Victoria Wren, a woman who knew Stencil's father during the war but vanished mysteriously. This quest introduces a new direction into Profane's otherwise aimless existence.
