About “Vis and Rāmin”
Vis and Rāmin is a classical Persian romantic tale written as a poem by Fakhruddin As'ad Gurgani in the 11th century. The author attributed the story to a Sasanian origin, but modern scholars believe it may have originated from the Parthian period, possibly around the 1st century AD. Some suggest that Gurgani's version incorporates elements from the time in which he lived, as is common in stories drawn from ancient sources and retold by later authors.
