About “Wen Xuan”
The Wen Xuan, also known as Selections of Refined Literature, is one of the earliest and most important anthologies of Chinese poetry and literature. It is among the world's oldest literary collections organized by theme. The anthology includes poetry and prose from the late Warring States period to the early Liang dynasty, but excludes the Chinese Classics and philosophical works. It contains many of the finest fu rhapsodies and shi poems from the Qin and Han dynasties. For much of pre-modern history, the Wen Xuan served as a key source of literary knowledge for educated Chinese people. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
