About “What Is Philosophy?”

What is Philosophy? is a 1991 book written by the philosopher Gilles Deleuze and the psychoanalyst Félix Guattari. The two met after May 1968 and worked together on several projects, including Capitalism & Schizophrenia and Kafka: Towards a Minority Literature. In What is Philosophy?, they examine philosophy, science, and art as three distinct modes of thought. The book reflects their long-standing intellectual collaboration and explores how these fields contribute to the production of thought. It is their final jointly authored work.
