About “Women”
Henry Chinaski, a low-life writer and alcoholic, was born to survive. After years of working menial jobs, spending money on alcohol and women, and living in poor conditions, Chinaski experiences a sudden rise in his writing career. At fifty, he enjoys a wild lifestyle, with hundreds of hangovers a year and a vigorous sex life. The 1978 novel, a follow-up to Post Office and Factotum, showcases Bukowski's humor and honest portrayal of life on the edge. It reflects the struggles and excesses of a man living at the margins.
