About “Wyandotté”

The novel is set in central New York near Unadilla Creek in 1765, during the period of frontier expansion. Captain Hugh Willoughby establishes a farm on a drained beaver pond, building a house on a rocky island he calls the Hutted Knoll, and lives there with his wife, Wilhelmina, their children, and a group of workers, including Joel Strides, Michael O'Hearn, Saucy Nick, and the Rev. Mr. Jedediah Woods.
