About “Xinxiu bencao”
The Xinxiu bencao, also known as the Tang bencao, is a Chinese pharmacopoeia from the Tang dynasty. It was compiled by a group of officials and physicians, with Su Jing serving as editor-in-chief. The work built upon the earlier Bencao jing jizhu by Tao Hongjing. It was first published in 659.
