About “Zhengzitong”

The Zhengzitong was a 17th-century Chinese dictionary. It was originally published in 1627 by the Ming dynasty scholar Zhang Zilie as a supplement to the 1615 Zihui dictionary. At that time, it was called the Zihui bian. Later, in 1671, the Qing dynasty author Liao Wenying acquired Zhang's manuscript, renamed it Zhengzitong, and published it under his own name.
