About “Dhanyawaddy Ayedawbon”
Kawitharabi Thiri-Pawara Agga-Maha-Dhammarazadiraza-Guru, also known as Dhanyawaddy Ayedawbon, is a Burmese chronicle that documents the history of Arakan from ancient times until the Konbaung Dynasty's annexation of the Mrauk-U Kingdom in 1785. It was written shortly after the annexation to preserve Arakanese history, as most of Mrauk-U's records were destroyed by Konbaung forces. Rakhine Sayadaw, a Buddhist monk, compiled the chronicle in 1788 by gathering surviving fragments. According to G.E. Harvey, a British colonial historian, the work is considered unreliable because it is "a third-hand piece of work." (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
