About “Rakhine Razawin Thit”

Rakhine Razawin Thit or the New Chronicle of Arakan is a Burmese chronicle that covers the history of Arakan from ancient times to the First Anglo-Burmese War (1824–1826). Written by Ven. Sandamala Linkara, the Sayadaw of Dakkhina Vihara Rama Buddhist Monastery in Ranbye Kyun, it was published in 1931. The work compiles earlier Arakanese chronicles into a single narrative. The original publication consisted of seven volumes. In 1997, the first four volumes were published together in an enlarged edition, and the remaining three were published in another enlarged volume in 1999.
