In Six Cats a Slayin', Charlie Harris and his Maine Coon cat Diesel prepare for the holidays and Charlie's first Christmas as a grandfather while managing nosy neighbor Gerry Arbitron, a real estate agent with designs on his house. Charlie also finds a box of five kittens left on his doorstep. When Gerry throws a lavish holiday party to make her mark on Athena, she winds up dead, and Charlie and Diesel must solve the case after witnessing heated exchanges she had before her death.
