About “Absolutely one thing”
As a treat, Mom takes Charlie and Lola to the store and says they may choose one thing. Lola asks if it means one thing to share, and Charlie explains it means one thing each, or two things between the two of them. Lola arrives nine minutes late, counting ladybugs, birds, and leaves along the way, then tries to negotiate for three things, then two, before Mom asks how about no things, with Lola bending everyday numbers to her will throughout.
