About “Island of Time”
The narrator, an experienced hiker familiar with an island in Lake Champlain, embarks on a weekend trip with their friend Jayme. During the journey, a sudden storm causes them to lose control of their boat, and upon reaching the island, they sense that time has shifted, becoming certain they have been transported to the past.
