About “Death at La Fenice”
Death at La Fenice (1992) is the first novel in the Commissario Brunetti mystery series by American author Donna Leon. Set in Venice, Italy, the book introduces the character of Commissario Brunetti, a police investigator. The novel won the Japanese Suntory prize and was followed by a sequel titled Death in a Strange Country (1993). The story is part of a series that became internationally popular.
