The evil Duke of Olasko, once a feared ruler with great armies, has been defeated by his nemesis, Tal Hawkins. Now exiled and forced to wander harsh lands, he struggles to survive. He finds work guarding merchant travelers, but his past as a tyrant haunts him. An even greater threat emerges as a dark empire seeks to enter Midkemia.
