About “Four roads cross”

The 2016 novel by Max Gladstone centers on the city of Alt Coulumb, which is in turmoil as the moon goddess Seril returns, causing public unrest. Kos Everburning's creditors attempt to take over the fire god's church, and Tara Abernathy, the church's Craftswoman, must protect it from a powerful necromantic firm and her former classmate. Supporting characters from Three Parts Dead, Cat and Raz, return as they fight monster pirates. The city experiences strange events, including skeleton kings drinking frozen cocktails, broken jails and temples, choirs of flame, demons, a farmers' market with unexpected importance, and doctors of theology fighting back. Monk-Technician Abelard performs miracles, and the Rats! play at Walsh's Place. Dragons also offer almost-helpful advice.
