The Shadow Lord's rule over Deltora has ended, and his dark forces have been pushed back beyond the mountains. However, thousands of Deltorans remain trapped in the Shadowlands, a dangerous and unknown land ruled by the Enemy. Lief, Barda, and Jasmine, who once completed the quest for the Belt of Deltora, now face a new mission: to find a powerful weapon to save the enslaved people. According to old stories, the only thing the Shadow Lord fears is the Pirran Pipe, a legendary instrument. But the pipe's existence is uncertain, and the journey to find it will be filled with great challenges.
