About “Into the storm”

Pressed into service when World War II breaks out in the Pacific, the USS Walker, a Great-War vintage four-stacker destroyer, retreats from pursuit by Japanese battleships. Its captain, Lieutenant Commander Matthew Patrick Reddy, heads Walker into a squall for cover and emerges elsewhere: familiar landmarks appear, but the water teems with monstrous fish and dinosaurs graze on the plains of Bali. Matt and his crew realize they are in an alternate world where two other species have evolved and are at war. It is a 2008 novel by Taylor Anderson.
